This role involves providing 1:1 support to a 35-year-old male in the Syracuse area. The support will focus on helping him find new activities, identify safety signs, navigate the community safely, learn how to safely meet and interact with people, and increase his positive communication skills. He enjoys community outings such as people watching, visiting the mall, park, and library, as well as car rides, fairs, festivals, and dances. He is open to trying new foods and likes to be engaged. The position requires reliability, consistency, good communication, engagement, patience, and a willingness to travel. Personal care may be needed, and the ability to transport a walker and foldable wheelchair, along with physical support, is necessary.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
