About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is hiring a residential Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on fostering independence, dignity, and respect while helping individuals with everyday needs, personal development, health, safety, and community participation. No prior experience is required. This is a part-time position scheduled for 24 hours per week: Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The starting wage is $21.55 per hour. The position is based in Rochester, New York, and reports to the Residential Manager.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• Must meet Lifetime Assistance’s Vehicle Operator requirements; this requirement does not apply to overnight or relief shifts.
• First Aid/CPR, SCIP-R, and Medication Administration certification, or ability to obtain them.
• Must pass required background checks and clearances, including SCR, Fingerprinting, SEL, and MHL.
• Ability to follow individualized plans and safety protocols.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability.
• Dependable, friendly, caring, and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meals, and household tasks such as thorough cleaning.
• Support individuals in developing independence, self-help, and social skills.
• Ensure individuals’ health, safety, and well-being, including administering medication if certified.
• Implement individualized service plans and daily supports, and document progress.
• Encourage community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
• Drive agency vehicles for transportation as needed.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with individuals, families, and colleagues.
• Complete required training, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
