Direct Support Professional - 3pm-11pm Shift
About The Position
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide safe and appropriate care for individuals with intellectual disabilities at their Pocono Center. This role involves supervising residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and personal needs are met, and assisting with daily routines and hygiene tasks. The position also includes supporting individuals in community outings and participating in ongoing training to enhance skills. Devereux offers the ASCEND career accelerator program, which provides tuition coverage and student loan repayment assistance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid Drivers License required
- Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches
- Must be able to complete required new hire orientation class
- Possess a valid license
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of human service experience working with children, adolescents, or adults preferred
- Be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model
- Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and appropriate care for all Pocono Center residents
- Be responsible for supervision of residents and seeing that their physical, emotional and personal needs are met
- Assist in hygiene tasks such as showering or toileting
- Support individuals throughout daily routine, including joining them in community outings
- Attend in-service training programs to develop skills
- Perform related duties, special assignments and projects as assigned by coordinator
