About The Position

Direct Support Professional - 7am-3pm Shift. Are you ready to make a positive impact working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities? As a Direct Support Professional for Devereux you will provide safe and appropriate care for all Pocono Center residents. You will be responsible for supervision of residents and seeing that their physical, emotional and personal needs are met. Assist in hygiene tasks such as showering or toileting. Support individuals throughout daily routine, including joining them in community outings. Attend in-service training programs to develop skills. Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pocono Center provides programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities. Located in Newfoundland, PA, this position is responsible for assisting individuals with activities of daily living and promoting growth in the areas of functional skills, personal needs, communication, and personal adjustment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Drivers License required
  • Complete required new hire orientation class
  • Possess a valid license
  • Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of human service experience working with children, adolescents, or adults preferred
  • Be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model.
