As a Direct Support Professional for Devereux you will: Provide safe and appropriate care for all Pocono Center residents. Be responsible for supervision of residents and seeing that their physical, emotional and personal needs are met. Assist in hygiene tasks such as showering or toileting. Support individuals throughout daily routine, including joining them in community outings. Attend in-service training programs to develop skills. Available Shifts: Full-time, part-time and on-call. Days 7am-3pm, Evenings 3pm-11pm, Overnights 11pm-7am, 9am-2pm, Power weekend (40 hours Friday through Sunday) considered. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Valid Drivers License required
One (1) year of human service experience working with children, adolescents, or adults preferred
Be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model
Must be able to complete required new hire orientation class
Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs
Possess a valid license
Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing
Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 50 lbs. or more
Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision
Occasional use of computers and office equipment
Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes
Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches
