Direct Support Professional - SDS / DSP Employee (LP)
About The Position
InReach is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Community Networking Services to a male individual with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte, North Carolina area (28211). The role involves 20–25 hours per week and pays $20 per hour. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., plus Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (flexible). InReach provides services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The DSP will provide companionship, care, and support, assisting the individual at home and in the community. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) population.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help the individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help the individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
- Transport and accompany the individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
