About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional for Devereux, you will provide safe and appropriate care for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This role involves supervising residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and personal needs are met, and assisting with daily routines, including community outings. You will also attend in-service training programs to develop your skills and perform related duties as assigned. Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pocono Center provides programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on assisting individuals with activities of daily living and promoting growth in functional skills, personal needs, communication, and personal adjustment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Drivers License required
  • Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches
  • Must be able to complete required new hire orientation class
  • Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs
  • Possess a valid license

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and appropriate care for all Pocono Center residents
  • Be responsible for supervision of residents and seeing that their physical, emotional and personal needs are met
  • Assist in hygiene tasks such as showering or toileting
  • Support individuals throughout daily routine, including joining them in community outings
  • Attend in-service training programs to develop skills
  • Perform related duties, special assignments and projects as assigned by coordinator
