About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide safe and appropriate care for individuals with intellectual disabilities at the Pocono Center. This role involves supervising residents, meeting their physical, emotional, and personal needs, assisting with daily routines and hygiene tasks, and participating in community outings. The position also requires attending in-service training programs and performing related duties as assigned. The Pocono Center provides programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on assisting individuals with activities of daily living and promoting growth in functional skills, personal needs, communication, and personal adjustment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Drivers License required
  • Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and appropriate care for all Pocono Center residents
  • Be responsible for supervision of residents and seeing that their physical, emotional and personal needs are met
  • Assist in hygiene tasks such as showering or toileting
  • Support individuals throughout daily routine, including joining them in community outings
  • Attend in-service training programs to develop skills
  • Perform related duties, special assignments and projects as assigned by coordinator
