Direct Support Professionals provide 1:1 support to individuals in structured home environments. Client needs vary from low-support PCA-style assistance and skill-building to behavioral regulation, medical monitoring, seizure support, and intensive placements requiring advanced competency. This is an active support role requiring staff to remain engaged, attentive, and able to follow structured service plans. Some placements operate in 24-hour supervision environments. If assigned to an overnight shift, staff must remain awake, alert, and actively monitor safety needs throughout the entire shift.
