Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Stride Services, part of the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice at Utah State University, provides individualized support to youth and adults with developmental disabilities in Cache Valley and southern Idaho. Its services emphasize inclusion, community integration, independence, and productivity. The Direct Support Professional provides care and support to individuals with disabilities. Candidates must be available to work 2 to 4 times per week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The advertised wage is $16.00 per hour. The job offer is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. This position is contingent upon funding.
Requirements
- Valid Utah driver’s license.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and the ability to build trusting relationships with customers and co-workers.

- Successful completion of a background check.
- Availability to work 2 to 4 days per week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Sufficient strength to perform job duties, including lifting up to 25 pounds, walking, and standing; ability to follow safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to people with disabilities, including toileting, feeding, transferring, and transporting them.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Drive university vehicles and transport clients as needed.
