About The Position

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a nonverbal young boy, 15 years old, in the Syracuse, NY area. The role involves providing 1:1 service to ensure his safety and assist him in developing social skills, learning to complete his ADLs, and teaching him safety skills. The DSP will encourage and assist him with overall health, safety, and daily living activities. This position offers flexible hours after school, typically from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with potential for weekend hours to be discussed. The role requires approximately 14 hours per week for Com Hab services at $24 per hour, and/or 6 hours per week for respite services at $20 per hour. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, enthusiastic, and able to work independently. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Reliable transportation is required, and a background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be completed prior to hire.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• A background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be completed prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Engage in activities with the client in the community.
• Assist the client in developing social skills.

• Provide 1:1 service to ensure the client's safety.
