About The Position

Community Options, Inc., a national nonprofit agency serving individuals with disabilities in 11 states, is hiring part-time Direct Support Professionals in Tucson, Arizona. The role provides person-centered care tailored to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No prior experience is required; paid training is provided. The stated starting pay is $15.45 per hour. Weekend shifts are available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and overnight weekends from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving support.
Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
Successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing checks.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Assist with daily routines, including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
Monitor individuals’ health and medical needs and immediately report concerns.
Support individuals’ learning and development of independent and community-based skills.
Participate in community, social, and recreational activities with individuals.
Drive individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
Complete program documentation and billable records accurately and on time.
Build a support network by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
Cooperate with licensing and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
