About The Position

Empowered Services provides one-on-one, in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) deliver hands-on caregiver support, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), personal care, and health-related services, helping individuals live more independently and stay connected to their communities. We are hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to provide 1:1 in-home care in the Grand Ronde area. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable with hands-on caregiving, medical support, and consistent routines. This is a great opportunity for candidates with experience in Caregiving, CNA or home health, Behavioral health or developmental disabilities, or Entry-level healthcare (training provided). You’ll be supporting an individual who enjoys music, creative activities, and interactive engagement, communicates non-verbally, thrives with routine, predictability, and simple choices, requires hands-on physical and medical support, and may experience seizures, requiring attentive and responsive care. This role is best suited for someone who is patient, observant, and calm under pressure, with a strong interest in caregiving or healthcare careers.

Requirements

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
• Current auto insurance
• Ability to pass a background check
• Comfortable with hands-on personal care and medical support

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a caregiver, DSP, CNA, or home health aide
• Experience with IDD, autism, or behavioral support
• CPR/First Aid certification

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and ADL support (bathing, dressing, hygiene, toileting)
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and physical support
• Support medication administration and tube feeding
• Monitor for and respond to seizure activity with calm, attentive care
• Build a consistent, trusting relationship
• Encourage engagement through music, art, and play-based activities
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
• Document care and communicate with the support team
