About The Position
Empowered Services is a one-on-one attendant care agency providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) support and community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in their own homes. Our mission is to support individuals in building independence, engaging in their communities, and living meaningful, self-directed lives. We are hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide 1:1 in-home care and support for an individual in the Yamhill County area. This position involves supporting daily living activities (ADLs), building a positive, consistent relationship, promoting independence and skill development, administering medications, safely assisting with physical movement, and assisting with bathroom usage and tube feeding. The role requires providing safe, attentive, and compassionate care and is ideal for someone patient, reliable, and comfortable with hands-on care and medical support needs. The individual to be supported enjoys music, art activities, and interactive play, communicates non-verbally, benefits from structured routines and simple choices, requires hands-on support including mobility assistance and medication administration, and may experience seizures, requiring calm, attentive care. Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements)
- Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)
- Comfortable providing personal care support
Nice To Haves
- Experience in caregiving, DSP, CNA, or healthcare roles
- Experience supporting individuals with I/DD
- CPR/First Aid certification
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 in-home care and support for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)
- Support daily living activities (ADLs) including hygiene, dressing, meals, and mobility
- Build a positive, consistent relationship with the individual
- Promote independence and skill development
- Administer medications
- Safely assist with physical movement
- Assist with bathroom usage and tube feeding
- Provide safe, attentive, and compassionate care
- Support community access and social engagement
- Follow individualized care plans and behavior supports
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment
- Communicate updates with care teams and coordinators
- Document care activities as required
