Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join its program in Townsend, Delaware. The role supports individuals with daily living and personal activities to enhance their independence. DSPs encourage, mentor, and coach individuals as they work toward their goals, including learning household tasks such as housekeeping and laundry. No prior experience is required, and paid training is provided. The work is performed according to established procedures under the supervision of the House Manager, who reviews performance through observations, residents’ responsiveness, living-area inspections, reports, and periodic meetings. The listed pay rate is $18.75 per hour, or $20.75 per hour with the selection of Enhanced Pay.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a home health aide setting or a school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
