About The Position
Dungarvin is a mission-driven provider of support services, serving people nationwide since 1976. The Direct Support Professional (DSP), also called a caregiver, provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. The role aims to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while preserving their dignity and respect. The DSP provides hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance, and helps ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the people served. Support includes daily living activities such as mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Full-time and part-time shifts are available. Compensation is $15.00–$15.75 per hour.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Comfort driving to transport persons served as required.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Complete a successful background clearance as part of the onboarding or employment process.
- Demonstrate person-centered, patient, and kind conduct.
- Be dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
- Be observant and detail oriented.
- Serve as a positive role model and work as part of a team.
- Commit to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
- Have computer skills for documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs.
- Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
- Promote the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Transport persons served as required.
