About The Position
The nature of the job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community. This is a part time position with hours in the afternoon during the week.
Requirements
- Trained on the Indiana Home and Community Support Professional standards.
- Additional training as needed on Behavior Support Plans, Risk Plans, or Medication Administration.
- Trained on and expected to complete Incident Reporting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community.
- Assist individuals supported with self-care, self-direction, expressive or receptive language, ambulation or mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), learning, independent living, economic self-sufficiency, physical activity, or community participation.
- Document work records via AccelTrax with mandatory clocking in and out using Electronic Visit Verification if applicable.
- Write a narrative note for each shift detailing assistance provided, individual's whereabouts, and duration of activities.
- Include progress notes with an option to select goals worked on.
- Complete Incident Reporting as needed.
