About The Position

Fitzmaurice Community Services, Inc. (FCS) is a nonprofit organization supporting adults with behavioral health and intellectual disabilities. The Direct Support Professional provides individualized support and care to clients in a licensed community residential facility. The role assists with daily living skills, personal care, and community engagement while promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. Paid training is provided, and no prior experience is required. The position is scheduled Wednesday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., for a total of 27 hours per week.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
Ability to pass and maintain Medication Certification and CPR/First Aid Certifications.
Provide and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license and be insurable under company policy.

Nice To Haves

NADSP certification; a $500 incentive is offered if certified upon completion of the 90-day probationary period.

Responsibilities

Provide intensive individual support and personal care services to clients.
Promote independence and autonomy by teaching daily living and behavior management skills.
Engage clients in structured activities that encourage growth and participation.
Complete required documentation promptly, including time and attendance, daily logs, progress notes, and monthly reports.
Participate in ongoing communication and planning for individualized program implementation.
Administer medications and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Use the least intrusive intervention methods to support clients effectively.
Encourage community integration through use of public resources and recreational opportunities.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information.
