Direct Support Professional
About The Position
At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), the Direct Support Professional helps empower people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals. Care is provided in the individual’s home and community. The role includes assisting with household tasks, personal care, employment support, appointments, errands, scheduling, and maintaining daily documentation in an electronic health record system. Entry-level applicants receive on-the-job training. This is a part-time position in Lincolnton, North Carolina, with compensation of $13.00–$18.00 per hour.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems or the ability to learn them.
- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.

- Entry-level applicants are welcome; on-the-job training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
- Provide personal care, including bathing and dressing.
- Provide employment support.
- Transport clients to appointments and run errands as needed.
- Help plan and organize the individual’s schedule.
- Complete daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
