About The Position

Almost Family – Roseburg provides compassionate, individualized care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), supporting their independence, dignity, and quality of life at home and in the community. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides attendant and relief care and helps clients participate in community activities, including social events, shopping, and volunteer work. The role involves supporting clients’ daily needs, independence, and meaningful relationships while following individual care plans and maintaining accurate documentation. Weekend availability and schedule flexibility are needed.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have at least one year of experience supporting someone with I/DD, professionally or personally.
Be able to work Saturdays and Sundays; flexibility is mandatory.
Be compassionate, patient, and reliable.
Be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Be a team player and able to work independently.
Pass a criminal background check.
Have a valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle when required for the client.

Responsibilities

Provide attendant care and relief care.
Support clients’ activities of daily living, including physical, emotional, behavioral, and communication needs.
Provide transportation for medical appointments, errands, and community outings.
Assist with household tasks and home management.
Encourage and model life skills and independence.
Promote positive self-esteem and build meaningful relationships.
Help clients engage in community activities such as social events, shopping, and volunteer work.
Follow individual care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
Support individuals in living life to their fullest potential.
