About The Position
At CRi, we support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives. We are looking for a Direct Support Professional I to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives in their communities. As a DSP I, you’ll go beyond basic care—you’ll mentor, advocate, and help transform lives, all while supporting a team and driving excellence.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Understanding of the unique needs and challenges associated with supporting individuals with IDD.
- Familiarity with the Person-Centered Planning process.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, communication and training purposes.
- Ability to cook and manage household tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor staff during shifts
- Provide direct support based on personalized care plans
- Communicate with families, guardians, and health professionals
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation and progress tracking
- Advocate for individuals at appointments and in the community
- Model professionalism and uphold CRi’s core values
- Leadership responsibilities on shifts, including overseeing progress note review, documentation completion, and delegation of tasks.
- Serve as a supportive conduit for individuals and their families/guardians.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to facilitate home life meetings.
