About The Position
Out of the Box Solutions is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD). The role supports individuals with daily routines, community involvement, and personal goals in a respectful, engaging, and empowering way. The agency describes its approach as person-centered, with support plans built around each individual’s goals. The position offers meaningful one-on-one work, flexible scheduling, and support from a team. DSPs help clients build independence and pursue a fulfilling life while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of caregiving or related experience.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Smartphone required.
- Must successfully pass all state-required background checks and meet all ODDS employment eligibility requirements.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Dependability and consistent attendance.
- Positive attitude and flexible mindset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently.
Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily routines, including cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
- Help clients access the community and stay engaged.
- Follow care plans and goals.
- Communicate with families and the team.
- Complete notes and documentation.
- Ensure clients’ safety and well-being at all times.
