About The Position

Dungarvin is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver in Columbus, Ohio, and surrounding areas. The role provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to people with mental, intellectual and developmental, or physical disabilities. The goal is to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while preserving their dignity and respect. The position is scheduled for the second shift and pays $16.50–$17.50 per hour, depending on position and program.

DSPs provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance; support individuals’ comfort, safety, and personal growth; perform housekeeping and laundry; and assist with daily living activities such as mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene. The role involves transporting people served as required.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required because the role involves transporting people served.
• Comfort driving to transport individuals served as required.
• Some positions or locations may require use of a personal vehicle and auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with disabilities.
• Offer hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Assist with daily living activities, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Transport individuals served as required.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
