About The Position

The Direct Support Professional provides hands-on support to individuals with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities. The role focuses on assisting with daily living, supporting participation in the community, and fostering independence through life-skills development and personal growth. The employee helps maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment, documents services, reports changes in behavior or health to supervisors, and collaborates with families, caregivers, and clinical teams on individualized care plans.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience working in the field with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Certification as an HHA, CNA, or NA; SCIP and AMAP certificates are also accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities.
• Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
• Accompany individuals to appointments, events, or activities to support community involvement.
• Teach life skills and encourage independence and personal growth.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
• Document services provided and report changes in behavior or health to supervisors.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and clinical teams to support individualized care plans.
