About The Position

ViaQuest ICFs' Direct Support Professionals provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. No prior experience is required because training is provided in its entirety. The role is suited to people interested in starting or gaining experience in healthcare or the intellectual and developmental disabilities field. A variety of schedules are available.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Meet the motor vehicle record requirements, including no OVI/DUI, reckless operation, or speeding violations more than 20 MPH over the posted limit; no more than two moving violations in the last two years; and no more than five points.
• Have a reliable vehicle with active insurance.
• Be able to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and assist individuals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety.
• Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
• Provide companion care and caregiving.
