About The Position

Aspire Living & Learning is seeking a per diem Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting in Middletown and Cromwell. The DSP supports daily activities such as household chores, meal preparation, recreational activities, learning activities, and physical fitness activities. The role includes representing the needs, wants, and interests of the individuals served and providing input into program planning and implementation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy, enthusiasm, and a passion and dedication for helping others.

Nice To Haves

• Prior professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience using Therap is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Support individuals with household chores and meal preparation.
• Support recreational, learning, and physical fitness activities.
• Represent the needs, wants, and interests of individuals served or supported by the program.
• Provide input on program planning and implementation for individuals.
