About The Position
Indera is seeking a 1:1 Part-Time Support Staff member in Syracuse, NY (CA – JJ) to assist a 66-year-old male client. The role involves helping him engage with the community, discover new activities, and improve his social interactions. The client enjoys art, making books, coffee breaks, classic cars, bowling, basketball, cooking, Halloween, concerts, art shows, movies, the library, the zoo, and watching planes at the airport. The ideal candidate will be creative, engaging, patient, and comfortable supporting the client on stairs and uneven terrain. This is a part-time role with potential for additional hours through the agency.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
- Creative, engaging, and patient candidate preferred.
