Full-time Direct Support Professional (Tuesday to Saturday: 3pm to 11pm)
About The Position
P.I.L.O.T. Services is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional to support adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. The role provides hands-on support and supervision while helping individuals live active, meaningful lives, develop independence, and build confidence. The position is located in Berlin, New Jersey, and works Tuesday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The organization describes its approach as focused on respect, teamwork, and engaging, fulfilling experiences for the people it serves and its staff. No two days are the same and may include community outings, volunteering, shopping trips, social events, arts and crafts, cooking, games, or recreational activities. P.I.L.O.T. Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- A verifiable high school diploma or GED is required.
- Must have a valid New Jersey driver's license with fewer than 5 points; probationary licenses are not accepted.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
- Compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be flexible, patient, and creative.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in human services is desired but not required; training and support will be provided.
- A clean driving record is preferred/required if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support and supervision to adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
- Assist with personal care and promote independence in daily living skills.
- Transport individuals to community outings, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Plan and participate in activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, games, and outings.
- Support community involvement through volunteering, shopping trips, and social events.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with team members to create a safe, positive, and engaging environment.
