About The Position
Gateways to Change is a nonprofit agency providing services to adults with developmental and physical disabilities in residential and community settings. The Direct Support Professional helps individuals acquire and maintain daily-living and socialization skills. The role provides in-home and community-based support and assists individuals with pursuing goals at home and in the local community. The posting describes a female program, a 3 p.m.–11 p.m. shift, and a Warwick location. Positions are located throughout Rhode Island, and the agency is hiring for all shifts and for part-time, full-time, or substitute positions.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and existing insurance, registration, and vehicle inspection.
- Provide a criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home and community-based support to individuals.
- Assist individuals with achieving goals in the home and local community.
- Transport individuals to medical appointments, personal shopping, and recreational activities.
- Assist with toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
- Administer medication.
- Cultivate safe and supportive relationships.
- Work independently and with staff.
- Bring creativity, organization, efficiency, and a fun approach to the job.
