A 19-year-old male in the North Syracuse area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with money management, personal hygiene, time management, interacting politely with others, and increasing his positive communication skills. He enjoys shopping, going out to eat, cooking, science/science projects, crafts, bowling, and theatre. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy
- Confident, engaging, consistent, patient, and a strong communicator
- Willing to provide verbal prompts for toileting hygiene
- Willing to redirect behaviors and responses
- Willing to support regulation
- Comfortable walking at a fast pace
- Able to react quickly
- Strong boundaries
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
