About The Position

Join Crest Services as a Direct Support Professional Mentor (DSP Mentor) and use your experience and leadership skills to help both the individuals we serve and the DSPs who support them thrive. For more than 50 years, Crest Services has been a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and traumatic brain injuries. Founded in 1974, we are committed to helping individuals live meaningful, independent lives while creating a supportive workplace where employees feel valued and appreciated. As a DSP Mentor, you'll play an important leadership role within your home—providing direct support to residents while helping train, mentor, and guide new DSP team members. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience and direct care experience working with individuals with disabilities or adults age 65 and older
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance in the state of employment
  • Ability to understand and complete required documentation
  • Dependable, compassionate, patient, and able to serve as a positive role model for others
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Medication Management Administration Certificate within 90 days of hire
  • Active Mandatory Reporter Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support, supervision, and protective oversight to individuals served
  • Promote independence and help individuals accomplish their personal goals
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) while ensuring safety, dignity, and respect
  • Onboard, train, coach, and mentor new Direct Support Professionals assigned to your home
  • Serve as a positive role model and resource for DSP team members
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead or Assistant Manager regarding staffing, attendance, and performance concerns
  • Act as a liaison between families, administration, staff, and individuals served to promote consistent, quality care
  • Maintain strong communication and teamwork within the home
  • Help foster a positive, professional team culture focused on person-centered care
  • Promote consistency in daily routines, expectations, and quality of services
