About The Position
Join our Day Habilitation Without Walls (WOW) Program, where every day is different and every day makes a difference. As a DSP II, you’ll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they participate in community activities, volunteer opportunities, recreational outings, and skill-building experiences throughout Western New York. Rather than working in a traditional facility, you’ll help people connect with their community and live fuller, more independent lives.
Requirements
- Compassionate, reliable, and positive attitude
- Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to safely transport individuals when needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Human services experience is helpful but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Responsibilities
- Support individuals during community-based activities and outings
- Assist with volunteer opportunities, recreation, and life-skills development
- Encourage independence, confidence, and community engagement
- Provide assistance with meals, personal needs, and daily supports as needed
- Document services and individual progress
- Help create meaningful experiences that align with each person’s goals
