Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP)
About The Position
The Arc Erie County NY is a leading nonprofit supporting people with developmental & intellectual disabilities across Western New York, through innovative residential, educational, clinical and employment services. The Arc Erie County is currently seeking Community Habilitation Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who wish to get paid to have fun! Our Community Habilitation DSP II’s provide direct supervision to community & residential individuals in all facets of daily living (one-on-one or group settings). This position also supports individuals to accomplish their personal goals & outcomes to achieve greater independence and provides services in the community or in individual’s home. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the Human Services field. There are no traditional assigned shifts, allowing flexibility to choose your schedule. Current openings are per diem with growth possibilities.
Requirements
- High School diploma with 1 year of full-time human services experience (can be combo of paid & volunteer)
- Associate degree (60 credit hours completed) with 6 months human services experience
- Bachelor's degree with no experience
- Valid NYS driver's license with approved record
- Ownership and access to an insured car in good operating condition.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to community & residential individuals in all facets of daily living (one-on-one or group settings).
- Support individuals to accomplish their personal goals & outcomes to achieve greater independence.
- Provide services in the community or in individual’s home.
