About The Position

Omega Day Centers is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections within their communities. As a DSP, you will provide person-centered support, helping individuals discover their strengths, pursue their goals, participate in their communities, and experience meaningful moments of growth. This role is ideal for compassionate, dependable, and patient individuals who enjoy working with people.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least two years of relevant work or life experience.
Valid driver's license.
Reliable personal transportation with current auto insurance.
Ability to travel within the community.
Ability to successfully complete required background screenings and drug screening.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

Provide person-centered support based on each individual's goals, preferences, abilities, and needs.
Help individuals develop and strengthen daily living and life skills.
Provide assistance with personal care and activities of daily living when needed.
Encourage individuals to make choices, express preferences, and build confidence.
Support personal goals and celebrate progress.
Accompany individuals on community outings, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and educational experiences.
Help individuals develop meaningful social connections and participate in their community.
Encourage independence and active participation in everyday activities.
Assist with planning and facilitating engaging recreational, educational, and life-skills activities.
Adapt activities based on each individual's interests, strengths, and abilities.
Encourage individuals to explore new interests and develop new skills.
Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, supervisors, and other members of the support team.
Follow individualized service plans and company procedures.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation using company-provided technology.
Promote a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
