About The Position

This position is a floater position, requiring comfort in commuting between different Brightway locations and potentially working at multiple sites with either children or adults. The role involves directly impacting lives by helping others, offering a strong sense of purpose and fulfillment. The job offers a unique work schedule that can provide significant extended breaks throughout the year, potentially totaling around six months off, with options like a 3-day work week and 4 days off to promote an exceptional work-life balance. The 12-hour work shifts allow for full-time work and up to 16 days off per month, with each schedule requiring one weekend day per week, eligible for premium pay (one and a half times the hourly rate). Brightway Living and Learning has been a leading agency for nearly 65 years, providing a full spectrum of care for over 1,600 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) are central to their mission, offering compassionate and individualized support. As a DSP, you will support individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, assisting with daily living activities, fostering independence, promoting well-being, and helping them connect with their communities. This role requires a valid NYS Driver's License for 18+ months with a clean driving history and successful completion of Brightway Living and Learning Transportation Orientation. New hires not meeting these criteria will receive a lower starting rate.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work a 12-hour shift on Wednesday, an additional weekday, and either Saturday OR Sunday (7 am - 7 pm/8 am - 8 pm).
  • Comfortable commuting between different Brightway locations and working at multiple sites.
  • Must have a valid NYS Driver's License for 18+ months with a clean driving history.
  • Must successfully complete Brightway Living and Learning Transportation Orientation.
