About The Position

All’s Well Healthcare has partnered with the State of California’s Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to offer a statewide, paid three-month shadow training program. The program matches candidates with organizations that support adults with special needs. Participants shadow experienced staff to gain firsthand experience and may be offered permanent employment if there is a mutual fit, sometimes as early as the third week.

The Direct Service Professional (DSP) Intern works under the supervision of an experienced DSP mentor for up to three months and 30 hours per week. The internship provides hands-on experience shadowing and learning to support people with diverse developmental and/or intellectual needs as they work toward more independent and fulfilling lives. Duties vary according to each person’s needs and goals. The role is located in Ventura or Oxnard, and the stated schedule is Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Pay is $16.90–$18.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or a Certificate of Completion.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license.
• Must pass a background check and required health screenings.
