About The Position

All’s Well Healthcare has partnered with the State of California’s Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to offer a paid, statewide, three-month shadow training program. The program matches candidates with organizations that support adults with special needs. Participants shadow experienced staff to gain firsthand experience and may be offered permanent employment if there is a mutual fit, potentially as early as the third week.

As a Direct Service Professional (DSP) Intern, you will work under the supervision of an experienced DSP mentor for up to three months and 30 hours per week. You will shadow, train, and learn how to support individuals with diverse developmental and/or intellectual needs as they work toward greater independence and fulfilling lives. Duties vary according to each person’s needs and goals.

The position pays $18.42–$20.50 per hour, with weekly pay and incentives. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 2 PM.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or a Certificate of Completion.
• Must have a valid identification card or driver’s license.
• Must pass a background check and other required health screenings.
