eJam is building a bench of freelance, project-based direct response copywriters to write video ad scripts for consumer brands including BugMD and Shameless Snacks. Writers receive a brief and deliver scripts with hooks and visual directions; eJam produces the ads and shares performance feedback. This is independent-contractor work, not an employee, retainer, or full-time role. Payment is at a fixed hourly rate agreed in writing before each project. Hours are not guaranteed, and a weekly cap is agreed per project; future brief volume depends on performance and the testing calendar. The role focuses on scripts, typically 30 to 90 seconds, for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. Formats include creator and UGC-style talking heads, voiceover product demonstrations, founder and expert angles, problem-solution advertorials, and mashups. The writer creates multiple testable hooks, pairs dialogue with visual direction, develops persona-first concepts, and uses performance metrics and past results to inform future work. Scripts must follow product-specific claims guidance, particularly for pest-control and food products. Work is remote with flexible hours; some overlap with Pacific time is helpful for feedback. The team includes strategists, editors, producers, and media buyers. Produced ads with real media spend may be used in the writer’s portfolio. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
