About The Position
AbaCares Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Worker to assist clients with personal care and household tasks, helping them maintain independence and quality of life. The role focuses mainly on light housekeeping and light meal preparation and requires professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to client care. The schedule is Tuesday and Thursday from 1 AM to 2 PM. There is no gender preference.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting and assisting with mobility.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities
- Assist with daily meal preparation.
- Perform light housekeeping and other household chores.
- Assist with grocery shopping.
- Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
- Assist clients with personal hygiene.
- Help clients dress their upper and lower body.
- Assist with walking and mobility.
- Help with transfers and bed mobility.
- Assist with feeding and ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Provide support during bathing.
- Assist clients with navigating stairs.
