Part-Time Direct Care Worker

About The Position
AbaCares Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Worker to assist clients with personal care and household tasks so they can maintain their independence and quality of life. The role calls for professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to client care. The scope is mainly light housekeeping and light meal preparation. The schedule is Tuesday and Thursday, 1 AM–2 PM; no gender preference is specified.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting and assisting with mobility.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily meal preparation.
- Perform light housekeeping and other household chores.
- Assist with grocery shopping.
- Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
- Assist with personal hygiene.
- Help clients dress their upper and lower bodies.
- Assist with walking and mobility.
- Help with transfers and bed mobility.
- Assist with feeding and help ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Provide support during bathing.
- Assist clients with navigating stairs.
