About The Position

Futures Through Choices has open positions for a Direct Care Support Staff. This role is for compassionate, caring, energetic, creative, and fun individuals who enjoy helping individuals with disabilities achieve their greatest potential. The Direct Care staff provides services to clients to help them become as self-sufficient as they are physically and mentally able. This includes assisting with meal preparation, hygiene needs (toileting, showering, changing briefs), and promoting the client's right to make choices, such as choosing healthy menus. The role involves taking clients into the community, attending events, and preparing crafts and other appropriate activities. The team is also responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary living area, including basic housekeeping and laundry, to help clients achieve a greater level of independent living.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients prepare meals
• Assisting clients with hygiene needs (toileting, showering, changing briefs)
• Helping clients make choices for themselves, such as choosing healthy menus

• Taking clients out into the community
• Attending events with clients
• Preparing crafts and other appropriate activities for clients
• Ensuring the living area, including all contents and surrounding areas, are in a safe and sanitary condition
