About The Position

Futures Through Choices is seeking compassionate, caring, energetic, creative, and fun individuals to join their team as Direct Care Support Staff. This entry-level, part-time position offers a starting rate of $16.00 per hour. The role involves assisting individuals with disabilities to achieve their greatest potential and become as self-sufficient as possible. This includes supporting clients with meal preparation, personal hygiene (including toileting, showering, and brief changes), and promoting their right to make choices, such as selecting healthy menus. The position also involves taking clients into the community, attending events, and preparing crafts and other activities. Additionally, the team is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary living environment, including basic housekeeping and laundry, to help clients achieve a greater level of independent living. Available shifts include days (9am - 3pm) and graves (10pm - 6am).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in becoming as self-sufficient as they are physically and mentally able.
• Help clients prepare meals.
• Assist clients with hygiene needs, including toileting, showering, and changing briefs.
• Help clients make choices for themselves, such as choosing healthy menus, while promoting their right to make choices.
• Take clients out into the community and attend events with them.
• Prepare crafts and other appropriate activities for clients.
• Ensure the living area, including all contents and surrounding areas, are in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Perform basic housekeeping and laundry.
