About The Position

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a self-motivated Director of Dining Service II for residential dining at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. The role advises and provides hands-on support for the day-to-day operations and financial success of one or more campus foodservice locations. The director ensures operations follow contract guidelines, Health Department regulations, company standards, and expectations for food quality, freshness, and presentation. The role offers potential for professional advancement as the company grows.

Requirements

• Five or more years of operational food service management experience.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends, including quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
• Strong leadership abilities and demonstrated experience supervising and developing staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
• Outstanding customer service skills and dedication to high quality standards.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial reports.
• Must be experienced with computers.
• ServSafe® Certified.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the hiring, training, and development of staff to maintain high standards of service and food quality.
• Ensure food quality and customer service standards are consistently met to maintain client and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and complete daily, weekly, and financial reports, including reports on food and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards to protect customers’ health and safety.
• Build strong client relationships and align dining programs with client objectives to support satisfaction and retention.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient dining service operations.
