About The Position

The Dining Service Associate performs dining service functions to serve residents and maintain clean, sanitary, and organized dining areas, facilities, and equipment. The associate may also assist with food preparation. This position involves following assigned work routines and recipes; setting up dining rooms and catered events; serving residents; cleaning and organizing dining service areas; receiving and storing food and supplies; observing safety and infection-control procedures; and maintaining required records. The associate stands and walks intermittently and reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and handles food products, supplies, and equipment. The role requires working with chemicals and cleaning agents and tolerating changes in temperature and humidity, including entering refrigerated storage areas and working near ovens, ranges, dishwashing machines, and steam tables. This is a part-time day/evening position at Laclede Groves in the Bistro. Pay is $15.00–$20.00 per hour, with no shift differentials. Requirements

Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignments.
Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
Patience and tolerance when interacting with staff, residents, and family members.
Must have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St. Louis County, in accordance with county health regulations.
Ability to stand and walk intermittently and reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry, and handle food products, supplies, and equipment.
Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents and tolerate temperature and humidity changes.
Must be free from infections or diseases.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned dining service routines using dining utensils, supplies, and equipment.
Assist with dining service setup in dining rooms and at catered events, including preparing beverages, salads, desserts, and other foods according to instructions and recipes; ensure food is served at proper temperatures and on time.
Set up dining rooms, including setting tables, stocking buffets, and serving residents.
Clean dining service areas by completing daily cleaning duties, bussing tables, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, removing trash, stocking and storing items correctly, and keeping work areas clean.
Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies.
Follow safety procedures, regulations, and food-handling practices; promptly report hazardous conditions, defective equipment, accidents, and incidents to the supervisor.
Maintain required documentation, including food-temperature checks and HACCP logs, product usage and waste amounts, and other required information.
Follow infection-control procedures, including proper hand washing, food storage and disposal, and use of protective clothing and equipment when handling waste and cleaning agents.
