About The Position

Mercy Village, a Trinity Health Senior Communities community in Fort Gratiot, is seeking a Dining Server to assist with dining service functions according to established policies and procedures. The role serves meals promptly and attractively, sets tables and prepares meal trays, food carts, and dining areas, and serves residents in dining rooms or delivers meals to their rooms or apartments. The server also performs dishwashing and cleaning, keeps utensils ready for the next meal, follows safety and dietary procedures, and prepares food in accordance with sanitary requirements. Contingent hours require availability for morning and evening shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess outstanding communication skills and be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must possess superior customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous food service experience preferred.
• Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dining service functions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Serve meals promptly and ensure they are palatable and attractively presented.
• Set tables and prepare meal trays, food carts, and dining areas.
• Serve resident meals in dining rooms and private dining rooms, and deliver trays to residents’ rooms or apartments.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures and ensure utensils are available for the next meal.
• Follow safety regulations and precautions.
• Assist with daily or scheduled cleaning duties.
• Follow dietary procedures and prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies.
