About The Position

Mercy Village, part of Trinity Health Senior Communities, is seeking a Dining Server to provide dining-service assistance in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role serves appealing meals promptly, sets tables, prepares meal trays and dining areas, and serves residents in dining rooms or delivers meals to their rooms or apartments. The server also performs dishwashing and cleaning, helps ensure utensils and supplies are ready for the next meal, follows safety and sanitation requirements, and prepares food according to established procedures. Contingent hours require availability for morning and evening shifts. The position offers rotating shifts and no late nights.

Requirements

• Must be able to work morning and evening shifts.
• Must possess outstanding communication skills and be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must possess superior customer-service skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food-service experience preferred; on-the-job training is provided.
• Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dining-service functions as directed and according to established policies and procedures.
• Serve meals promptly and ensure they are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Set tables and prepare meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms.
• Serve residents in the dining room and private dining room, and deliver trays to residents’ rooms or apartments.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures.
• Ensure utensils and other items are available for the next meal.
• Follow safety regulations and precautions.
• Assist with daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established procedures.
• Follow dietary procedures and prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies.
