About The Position

The Dining Server provides excellent customer service to residents by taking orders, serving meals, offering assistance, and helping create a pleasant dining experience. The role is hourly and non-exempt and reports to the Culinary Services Director. The position is based at an exclusive senior living community in Southbury, Connecticut.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred; GED accepted.
• At least one year of experience in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience working with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Take residents’ dining orders in a friendly and attentive manner.
• Learn and retain residents’ names, special requests, and dietary restrictions.
• Set up the dining room and ensure service items are readily available, including silverware, napkins, menus, and salt and pepper shakers.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the dining room, menus, kitchen, serving stations, and other areas as directed.
• Ensure safe food handling.
• Assist with preparing beverages, snacks, desserts, salads, and condiments for service.
• Assist residents with special dining requests.
• Ensure all residents are accounted for during each meal and complete attendance documentation.
• Assist with special events.
• Participate in and attend scheduled in-service training.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and community policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
