About The Position

The Dining Room Supervisor assists in supervising wait staff as they prepare the dining room for meals, serve meals to residents and guests, and service the dining room after meals. The role supports made-to-order dining featuring seasonal and regional menus, signature dishes, and daily specials. The position is described as having no late nights. The supervisor directly oversees dining room employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, recognizing and disciplining employees, and resolving complaints and problems.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
First aid and CPR certified.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in hospitality, residential, or club dining rooms is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure wait staff wear designated uniforms that are clean and pressed.
Maintain the daily menu board.
Assist in establishing and monitoring the staffing schedule, and fill staffing gaps when needed to avoid overtime or address wages trending above budget.
Ensure dining room personnel provide exceptional customer service, including seating residents, presenting menus and specials, answering questions, and making suggestions about food and services.
Ensure tables are promptly and properly bussed, cleared, and reset in a timely and appropriate manner.
Directly supervise dining room employees in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; and address complaints and resolve problems, as applicable.
