About The Position

The Dining Assistant/Waiter serves elders and guests, takes meal orders, and cleans tables after meals. The role prepares and serves meals for the dietary department in a safe and appetizing manner while complying with dietary standards, policies, and procedures. It also includes cleaning the kitchen, washing dishes, and returning food to proper storage.

The Dining Services Assistant/Server provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers, works and learns within a team environment, follows procedures for infection control, food-borne illness prevention, harmful chemical handling, fire safety, and sanitation, and ensures appropriate snacks are available to elders with special dietary needs.

Requirements

• Kindness and a desire to work with elderly people; enjoyment of working with people in general.
• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
