About The Position

Indotronix is seeking an Onsite Dimension Control / Tooling Technician 1 for their Palmdale, CA location. This role involves a 4x10 work schedule (Monday-Thursday) and requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent with 0 years of related education and/or experience in tool building and laser tracking within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience devising reference systems and creating working build models.
• Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 35 pounds and climb ladders.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in warehouse and shop floor environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Master-level knowledge of computer-aided metrology systems including laser trackers, articulated arms, scanners, and 6DoF (Six Degree of Freedom).
• Experience with reverse engineering and model building from collected data.
• Knowledge of Integrated Systems Air Frames and Aero Structures.
• Experience with computer-aided graphic interfaces such as Verisurf X, SA and Maya Matrix, Build!IT, and PolyWorks.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, and assemble standard and non-standard jigs, fixtures, tool masters, tooling gauges, and related tooling involving complex contours and compound angles.
• Plan work and determine methods and sequences of operations using tool design drawings or self-developed designs.
• Set up and operate optical instruments to verify alignment, fit, and adjustment of assemblies.
• Develop and design holding devices, jigs, and fixture details.
• Prepare operational sequences and shop drawings for parts fabrication and assembly.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process and quality control procedures.
